Prof. Golusinski Honored by the European Head & Neck Society
We are proud to share that Prof. Wojciech Golusinski was honored by the European Head & Neck Society with the highest merit - the EHNS Award - "in recognition of his exemplary contributions and outstanding dedication".
Prof. Golusinski is the Head of the Department of Head and Neck Surgery and Laryngological Oncology at PUMS and one of the founders of the EHNS, and has served as President of the Society for the past 5 years. The award was presented in March to recognize his numerous merits for the development of head and neck oncology. Prof. Golusinski's presidency fell during the difficult time of the pandemic, but he managed to create new developments such as the use of artificial intelligence in the diagnosis and treatment of head cancer, the EU-Robot platform for promoting minimally invasive techniques in head and neck surgery, and an online educational platform for young doctors and scientists from all over Europe. The formula of the flagship European congresses and courses was also changed to online meetings, but the high level of content and organization was preserved thanks to the determination of the board.
During his term, Professor Golusinski managed to consolidate various European societies dealing with head and neck cancer, and established new contacts and cooperation that continue to this day. These partnerships are the basis for the implementation of new multi-center studies, the creation of joint scientific articles, and the organization of new research projects and conferences, congresses, and courses. The main partners of EHNS are now ESTRO, ESMO, CE-ORL, IAOO, IFHNOS, as well as many other national ENT societies whose local activities are increasingly visible on the international stage.
The European Head and Neck Society (EHNS) was established in 2006 to popularize knowledge on all aspects of head and neck cancer, and to promote the highest standards of research, education, prevention, treatment, and care of head and neck cancer patients.
Congratulations!
