Elections for the University Student Government Council RUSS
Dear Students,
The Student Electoral Commission has announced the deadlines for submitting candidacies for representatives to the University Student Government Council (RUSS)! On May 9, 2024, we will elect representatives for the term from September 1, 2024, to August 31, 2026!
We encourage all of you to participate not only in the elections but also in submitting your candidacies. We also face the challenge of surpassing the turnout from the previous elections, which was only 17%.
How can I submit my candidacy?
Simply fill out the application form and gather a minimum of 20 signatures of support from students within your Faculty. The form must be submitted to the Student Electoral Commission office during one of the following dates at the RUSS office, DS Medyk, Rokietnicka 4, room 18:
- April 23, 2024, between 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
- April 26, 2024, between 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM
- April 29, 2024, between 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Who and when will the candidates be elected?
Both active and passive electoral rights are granted to all University students. On May 9, 2024, each student will receive an email with a link to vote online in their student mailbox. We will inform you about the voting hours shortly.
Students from a particular Faculty have the right to vote only for candidates from their own Faculty. Each student has the right to cast as many votes as there are members in RUSS from their respective Faculty (e.g., each student from the Faculty of Medicine has the right to cast up to 5 votes; students from the Faculty of Medical, Pharmaceutical, and Health Sciences can cast up to 4 votes; English Division students have 1 vote).
Who is part of the University Student Government Council?
According to the Student Government Regulations § 9, point 1, the University Council consists of 18 members elected from among the University students according to the following distribution:
- 5 representatives from the Faculty of Medicine;
- 4 representatives from the Faculty of Medical Sciences, including at least two representatives from the medical-dental field;
- 4 representatives from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, including at least two representatives from the pharmacy field;
- 4 representatives from the Faculty of Health Sciences, including no more than two from one field;
- 1 representative of students from English Division
According to § 28, point 2, in elections to the University Council, candidates who receive the highest number of valid votes from each Faculty and field separately are considered elected.
Candidates will have the opportunity to present themselves in a collective document, which they will access after their candidacy is accepted by the Student Electoral Commission. Candidate profiles will be made available collectively on the website, Facebook, and Instagram. 😎
